The Author : Jack Bureau

Jack Bureau was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1932. He came over to Britain at the age of 8 and has lived in Britain since then, becoming naturalised in 1947. He has lived half his life in England and the second half in Scotland. He went to Durham University where he studied Politics, Economics, Psychology and Philosophy and then went into business, first as a market researcher and then into marketing management. He became a Marketing Director for Jeyes UK before leaving industry to teach Marketing at the Strathclyde University Business School from 1976 to 1997. He lives in retirement with the wife he married in 1956. They have four children and nine grandchildren. He is passionate about classical music, fascinated by the science he never learned at school, and horrified by the mindless amateurism of national politics  and national politicians.
